Terina's Mongolian Beef

Terina's Mongolian Beef

1 lb Flank steak
1 1/2 Tb. Cornstarch
1/2 C. water
1/3 C. brown sugar
1/3 C. soy sauce
1 T. canola oil
3 garlic cloves (or shallots)
1/2 tsp. peeled fresh ginger (I like more….)
1/4 C. sliced green onions

Cut steak diagonally across grain into thin slices. Combine steak & cornstarch in a bowl, toss until coated and set aside.

Combine Water, brown sugar & soy sauce in a small bowl & set aside.

Heat oil in large nonstick skillet, over med-high heat. Add garlic & ginger, saute 1 min. Add steak, cook 3 min. or until browned, stirring occasionally. Add brown sugar mixture, and cook 4 min. or until sauce thickens, stirring occasionally. Sprinkle with green onions. Serve over white rice…..

Michelle's notes: Gluten free only if using gluten free soy sauce...great dinner though, kids loved it!
